Mashatu - Day 3 PM (Lion Special)

Shortly after we left the Duiker we came across this male lion, lying almost across the track.

Although he appeared to be fast asleep he reacted to every sound and movement around, although his "reaction" only amounted to a slight opening of his eyes.

The 3 females with two sets of cubs weren't too far away, unfortunately the light was fading rapidly but thanks to the R6's amazing low light capabilities I was at least able to get something good enough for the blog.

I was most surprised as to how discoloured her teeth are as the cheetah's yesterday were so white.  Maybe it's a result of the recent ostrich meal and they'll whiten up again.

This cub wandered around all over the place carrying a piece of tree bark in his mouth.

After a while all 4 cub moved away from their Mums to play on a dead tree.

It really was almost dark by now so I gave up with stills and tried a couple of videos which I've spliced together.
